With the move to Arlington eminent, I made a list of my top 10 reasons I’m excited about moving and the top 10 reasons why I’m not. As to not begin on a negative note, I’ll start with the reasons I’m jazzed about the move.
Top 10 reasons I’m excited:
1. Working with the folks of Mosaic, Arlington
2. Situated between Dallas and Ft. Worth
3. Setting out on a new adventure
4. Six Flags
5. Living in an apartment complex (no yard to mow, lots of new friends)
6. I’ve never lived in a big city
7. Starting graduate school at Southwestern Seminary
8. Closer proximity to extended family
9. Finding a new job (developing new skills, meeting new people)
10. New opportunities to share a life-changing story
Top 10 reasons I’m not excited:
1. Leaving the folks of The Journey, Lubbock
2. Double the rent for less than half our current space
3. A 45 minute drive to school
4. Heat + Humidity = miserable summers
5. No satisfaction in seeing my own yard mowed by my own hands
6. I’ve never lived in a big city
7. School, again.
8. Leaving immediate family
9. Finding a new job (searching, applying)
10. Leaving developing friendships behind
We load the truck tomorrow (Thursday), and head out on Friday. I’ll update again on the other side of the move.
Peace
